Vocational and Continuing Education

Rapid changes in work environments and tasks make lifelong learning increasingly important, for job satisfaction, security and rewards. Bandalag háskólamanna (BHM) runs two funds related to vocational and continuing education, which members of Fræðagarður can apply for.

Vocational Education Fund

The fund supports fund members for the costs incurred as a result of continuous and continuing education related to the applicant's project, job, or professional field.

The fund provides grants to members for studies and individual courses, conferences, seminars and study tours domestically and internationally. Projects that are eligible for grants must concern the professional field or work of fund members.

Rights to the BHM Vocational Training Fund is for those who have paid into a vocational training fund for a total of six months, of which three are consecutive.

Applications for the Vocational Training Fund must be submitted electronically on My Pages on the BHM website. The fund's employees process applications according to the allocation rules.

All applicants will receive a response email stating whether the application has been accepted or not and what documents must be submitted in order for the grant to be paid out.
